ZHU Rukai, Member of Sedimentary Reservoir Group, Petroleum Geology Committee, Chinese Petroleum Society

In recent years, focusing on key oil and gas exploration fields such as lithologic stratigraphic reservoirs and foreland basins, the research has been mainly engaged in lithofacies palaeogeography, deep reservoir and low permeability tight reservoir evaluation, Marine sedimentary system and reservoir distribution law, volcanic reservoir development main control factors and distribution law, etc. In particular, the research is devoted to the relationship between reservoir diagenetic fluid evolution and pore evolution, quantitative evaluation of diagenetic facies and prediction of favorable reservoir distribution in sequence stratigraphic framework. In recent years, new discoveries have been made in the study of ultra-microscopic pore throat structure in tight reservoirs (tight sandstone and shale).

He has published more than 90 papers in science In China, Science Bulletin and other core journals, including 8 SCI papers and 5 monographs, one of which is the first author. It has won 12 science and technology awards, including 1 at national level and 5 at provincial and ministerial level. In 2008, it was awarded the third "Star of Petroleum Science and Technology" by Petrochina Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development.
