个人简介

Sun  Hui  holds a  Ph.D.  in engineering from China  University of Geosciences  (Beijing) and  is a Senior  Engineer  and Assistant Research Fellow. She started her career at the Petrochina Planning & Engineering Institute in 2007 and was transferred to the PKU Institute of Energy in 2022. Her main research areas include natural gas strategy, policy, and market. She led and was the main contributor to a number of important projects, including NDRC’s “Approaches and Recommendations for Deepening Natural Gas Market Reform,” Pipe China’s “Research on the Strategy and Business Model for Developing the National Pipeline Network” and “Methods  for  Constructing  Analysis Models  for Natural Gas Market Operation,” and Ordos’   “Research  on Innovative Development of the Natural Gas Industry. ”

In  2018,  as the  principal  author, she wrote  a  report titled  “Analysis  of  China's  Natural  Gas  Demand  Potential  and  Relevant Recommendations under the New Situation,” which received written instructions from President Xi Jinping. She once worked in the following capacities, including as a member of the Working Group for the “14th National Five-Year Energy Plan,” a member of the drafting team and mid-term assessment expert team for the “National Clean Heating Plan,” and a member of drafting teams for projects such as the 14th national Five-Year Plan (FYP) for petroleum and natural gas, the national implementation plan for peaking carbon emissions in petroleum and natural gas industries, the national implementation plan for gas storage capacity development, the natural gas utilization policy (2012), and China’s Natural Gas Development Reports. Furthermore, she was also involved in the pre-feasibility/feasibility studies and final investment decisions for several national pipelines, including the Second West-East Gas Pipeline, the Third Shaanxi-Beijing Gas Pipeline, and the Fourth Shaanxi-Beijing Gas Pipeline Phase.

She has published more than 30 papers and has received 29 technical awards. These honors include second- and third-class Soft Science Awards from the  National  Energy Administration, first-, second-, and third-class  National Awards for  Excellence  in Engineering Consultation, third-class Award for Scientific and Technological Progress in Petroleum, first Prize for Outstanding Soft Science Achievements in Petroleum, and first-, second-, and third-class Awards for Outstanding Achievements in Petroleum Planning. She has also been honored six times for her personal contributions to petroleum policy research.
