Scientist and head of distributed energy research at the Ordos Research Institute of Energy of PKU. He
previously served as a director, deputy director, and deputy director-general at the National Development and
Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration. Additionally, he was once a Senior Advisor to the
Director of the IEA and Chair of the Coordination Committee of the IGU. Dedicated to research on clean energy
transition and energy sector reform, Yang Lei actively contributes to global energy governance.
He has authored books and papers such as Gas Market Liberalization Reform: Key Insights from International
Experiences and the Implications for China, Prospects of China's Distributed Energy, and The Future of Energy
- Digitalization and Financial Reshaping.
